New pictures of stars Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) deliver on the film’s promise of Gollum horror. With deep circles under his eyes, unkempt teeth and thin, dark hair, Wood bears a striking resemblance to the Lord of the Rings creature. On the one hand you can see Dinklage as the eponymous superhero, on the other hand Wood as the villain Fritz Garbinger. According to Entertainment Weekly’s report, the villain in the film’s story is part of the management level of the fitness company Garb-X, where the inconspicuous Winston (Dinklage) is employed as a janitor.

Winston suffers from a fatal illness for which his employer refuses to pay for the cure. After an accident involving toxic waste the protagonist is horribly disfigured, but also receives superhuman powers. And seeks revenge.

When is The Toxic Avenger coming to cinemas?

The Toxic Avenger is a Remake of the 1984 sci-fi splatter film of the same name, which in Germany is called Atomic Hero – The Toxic Avenger. There is no theatrical release for the new edition yet.
