Eight found after avalanche at ski resort in the Alps

Eight people have been found after the avalanche in the Lech-Zürs ski area in the Austrian Alps on Christmas Day.

Six people are said to be unharmed and two have been taken to hospital, reports the regional newspaper Voralberger Nachrichten.

The avalanche was triggered at 3 pm on the Trittkopf mountain. Parts of the avalanche reached the ski slope in the area. Over 200 people participated in the search during the afternoon and evening.

According to the first reports, ten people were missing after the avalanche.
