Eco Data Center establishes itself in Östersund – the waste heat will go to food production

The news was presented at the Åre Business forum on Thursday. Eco Data Center, Jämtkraft and Östersund Municipality were on hand to present the 18 billion kroner investment. The waste heat from the data center will be used by another company, Warm, which will produce food.

In the long term, it is expected that the establishment can provide 1,000 jobs.

The plan is for the data center to start construction in 2024 and be ready in 2026.
