Earth hour is here – turn off the lights

Earth hour is here turn off the lights

The annual Earth Hour campaign, which started in Sydney, Australia in 2007, involves residents, cities and businesses worldwide turning off their lights for one hour. The aim is to get the world’s leaders to act against the climate threat.

This year, Earth hour occurs today, March 23, between 20.30 and 21.30, Swedish time. Behind the manifestation is the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

“By switching off on Earth Hour, we are all sending an important message,” says the WWF Secretary General Gustaf Lind in a press release.

“We must stop the climate crisis and the loss of biodiversity before it is too late”.

According to WWF, almost a billion people participate annually in the climate demonstration.
