Dutch Railways want to attract staff with train simulator

The NS normally uses the simulator to train drivers. Due to the staff shortage at the railways, the NS is now using the simulator to recruit people. The NS has 1100 open vacancies throughout the company. In addition to drivers and conductors, the company is also short of IT staff, mechanics, employees for safety and service and at the shops at the stations. This year, 220 people have started training to become train drivers or chief conductors, but 500 places are still open.
