Dutch embassy vandalized

The green painted text can be seen in several different places on the embassy’s facade on Södermalm in Stockholm. The police confirm that information has been received about vandalism at the embassy, says police spokesperson Tove Hägg to TV4 Nyheterna.

Unrest has arisen ahead of the return match between football clubs Hammarby IF and FC Twente in the qualifiers for the Europa Conference League, which will be played in the Tele2 arena at 20:00 on Thursday evening. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, supporters from the football clubs must have collided on Södermalm in Stockholm on Tuesday.

The Dutch football club from the city of Enschede has decided to recall the supporters’ match tickets. A total of 1,500 tickets had been sold. This after the tumult in the Europa Conference League qualifier between Hammarby and Twente last week. Despite this, it is estimated that there are several hundred supporters in Stockholm. In the Netherlands, the away fans are now being asked to “stay in their hotels” in Stockholm.

TV4 Nyheterna has searched the embassy without success. But according to the Dutch newspaper Tubantia the vandalism must have been captured by surveillance cameras.
