Dragon’s Dogma 2: Hide Helmet

The character editor in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is extremely extensive and was available before release. As in most RPGs, helmets and headgear hide the faces of your characters that you have carefully designed. You can read here whether you can hide these.

Can you hide helmets? Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to hide headgear in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you want to see your character’s face, you will need to choose a helmet that is open at the front. If you want to see the entire head, you unfortunately have to forgo headgear completely.

Can you simply leave out headgear in the game? Helmets and headgear of all kinds usually have important functions, stats and are quest-relevant. Therefore, you can’t just take them off and walk around without them.

The Mask of the Beast People, for example, can help you pass an otherwise locked gate:

Through the gate with this mask – but the character’s face remains obscured.

Is a hide function in the works? It is currently not known whether Capcom will add a hide function later. In fact, it’s now common practice in RPGs to be able to hide headgear.

Games like Baldur’s Gate 3 or the story-heavy Final Fantasy XIV show the player character with very detailed facial expressions. This is important for immersion. Of course, not all players hide their headgear for this. However, it’s safe to assume that most players want to see the results of their hours of work in the character editor.
