The San Jose Sharks, the same team that drafted Murray back in 1999 in the eighth round as 241st overall, gave the Swede the chance on the big stage. Douglas Murray spread terror in the NHL with his rock-hard tackles and total disrespect for opponents with far more well-known names. In 2008, he also had to make his long-awaited national team debut for Tre Kronor in connection with the hockey WC in Canada.

Toughest on the ice

After a long and hard hockey career, one is of course curious about who or who the Swedish NHL defenseman considered to be the toughest to face on the ice. Two names quickly come to his mind.

When it comes to the best player he has played with or faced, it becomes difficult to pick just one name.
– I am very “biased” on Joe Thornton and he was incredibly dominant there for a while. But then I got the chance to play with (Sidney) Crosby who is fantastic, says Douglas in the interview.
– But on the other hand, the most valuable player for the team, I would probably say Carey Price.
