Both William Nylander and Victor Olofsson scored for their teams as Toronto beat Buffalo at home 2–1 after overtime.
It lasted until a couple of minutes into the middle of the night before William Nylander scored Toronto’s and the game’s first goal after an elegant play by Tyler Bertuzzi.

Just a few minutes later came the second full hit of the clash, when Buffalo’s Victor Olofsson from the left circle managed to shoot the puck over the Toronto goalie’s Ilya Samsonovs picking glove.
After that it was still even and only in extra time did the home team manage to decide through Austin Matthews who found the net with just 40 seconds left.
