Double Swedish goals in the NHL when the New York Islanders won last night

Simon Holmström and Pierre Engvall each had a hit as the New York Islanders beat Carolina in overtime in tonight’s NHL round.

The two goals – which came in the second period – followed each other and meant that the Islanders could first equalize and then take a 3-2 lead. For Engvall, who broke in front of the goal and sent the puck between his legs Pyotr Kojetkov in Carolina’s cage, was the first goal of the season.

Also Oliver Ekman-Larsson was noted for a goal as he set the final score 1–5 in Florida’s win away to Montreal.

One that didn’t account for a goal this time was Toronto’s William Nylander. He did, however, make an assist in the game against Seattle, which Toronto won 4–3 on penalties.
