Double blows for Önnered: “Not at all at the level we want to play”

– It’s really nice to be able to take a break with this fighting victory. It’s been a tough period and it’s nice to take this into the break and get a good breath back, says Skövde’s Moa Andersson to Handbollsligan live.

Skövde, who have now finished playing before the home WC in Gothenburg, had a four-match losing streak stopped, while Önnered had a chance to take over the league lead. Without taking it.

“We weren’t good enough”

Tindra Sahlin Wallenius drove to the line and shot 25-23 with 18 seconds left. Önnered’s Fanny Elovson drew the reduction to 25-24, but then the match clock stood at 60.00 and there was not even cheering for the goal.

– We lose it in the second half. We were not at all at the level that wants to play, but far below. We weren’t good enough. Even if there was a 20-minute break in the second half, we should be able to win on a difficult away pitch, says Önnered’s Siw Aabech disappointedly.

Injury and straight red card

With the score 19-19 with ten minutes remaining, an accident occurred which caused a longer interruption. Önnered’s Elin Österwall, 18, drifted into the penalty area and got caught in a twist after contact with a Skövdes player and was left lying down in violent pain, hitting her knee.

She then had to be carried out on a stretcher from the arena. The break was extra long because they were waiting for an ambulance to arrive. She still remained in the hall on crutches.

Skövde’s Ebba Hägg received a straight red card after the melee.
