Donald Trump is indicted on 37 counts

The charges against former US President Donald Trump have now been made public, reports say Reuters.

Former US President Donald Trump is indicted on 37 counts. That is clear after the indictment against him was announced on Friday in the case of the classified documents found at his private residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

Trump stands under suspicion of willful preservation of national defense information. The documents are said to contain information about which weapons the US and its allies have access to, as well as the US’s nuclear weapons program. It reports that the documents contain the weaknesses that certain allies have in the event of an enemy attack.

“The purpose was for Trump to keep classified documents that he had brought with him from the White House,” the indictment states.

One document also allegedly contained a classified map that described a military operation issued by the Pentagon.

“I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Thursday.

On Tuesday, he will appear in a court in Miami, Florida.
