There would be several user profiles to post your favorite photos and videos, follow your friends, comment on their publications… A news wall would also be provided to discover all the latest photos and videos of the users you decide follow. In short, a real copy/paste from Instagram, or almost.
Among the functions exclusive to this new app, we would find an integration of TikTok. Users could thus move from one application to another very easily by posting their TikTok videos and montages directly on the new platform.
This announcement comes as more and more content creators are complaining about Instagram’s new policy. The platform of the giant Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, etc.) has, for several months, given pride of place to user videos to the detriment of photographs. A shame when we know that this is the basic use of the application. TikTok, already booming in short videos, could therefore delight some dissatisfied Meta users with its new application, specially designed around photography.
At a time when the fate of TikTok is increasingly uncertain following its potential ban in the United States, this new application could be the perfect response to overshadow Instagram.
