Disabled Ulf was stabbed to death – now the trial begins

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

One September evening, disabled Ulf was attacked in Oskarshamn by two robbers – and subjected to beatings and fatal stabbings. Now two men are on trial for aggravated robbery and one of them also for murder. Prosecutor Linda Caneus tells TT that she believes it was a coincidence who the men chose to turn on.

– It is a robbery-murder, says the prosecutor.

52-year-old Ulf was a well-known profile in the city and after the murder Oskarshamn residents gathered for a memorial march. In the lawsuit, the prosecutor describes that Ulf was surrounded and restrained. While the men were being kicked and fought, they tried to steal his money and pull a wristwatch from his wrist, according to the indictment.

After that, the 27-year-old allegedly went away and got a knife, with which he then inflicted several stab wounds, which led to fatal injuries. The one man filmed the incident himself with a mobile phone and that video now forms part of the prosecution’s evidence.

The prosecutor assesses the robbery as serious because two people assaulted a lonely and disabled man and inflicted very extensive and life-threatening violence on him. The 27-year-old is also charged with aggravated assault or aggravated assault against another person on the same day. According to the indictment, he threw an iron pipe at a man, who was hit at eyebrow height.
