Diablo 4: I made a Frost build for the Sorceress that no one else is playing

The sorceress isn’t exactly one of the strongest classes in Diablo 4. Nevertheless, MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus took a look at the magic slingshot and even found a really good build that doesn’t appear in any tier lists.

What build is this? I play with a focus on Blizzard and barriers – and sort of a tank build indeed. Because my Frost build relies on being able to stand inside enemies while they have to pound me or freeze as they die.

After getting to level 50 on our Sorceress level build, I played around with an Electric build, then a Fire build. In the end I ended up with Frost because the ultimate “Deep Freeze” is just damn cool.

This makes the build special: In the tier list with the best builds, the Frost Sorceress only appears with the relatively boring Ice Shard build. There are no tips for a Blizzard build anywhere.

If you play the sorceress like this, you are absolutely off-meta – and still enormously strong and “tanky”. Because I not only easily run through dungeons and kill bosses in seconds, I also ensure a lot of CC in my group and keep friends away from damage.

Here you can see gameplay from the guild in the Lightwatch at world level 3. My sorceress is here level 58:

  • Blizzard Build for the Sorceress – Gameplay and Tips

How to play the build: The style of play is based on stacking as many Blizzard missions as possible on one point and binding opponents there. They should become vulnerable, which increases your damage with different multipliers, and then die, at the latest during deep freezing:

  • Cast Blizzard multiple times on a spot with many enemies
  • Use Avalanche to get more missions
  • If necessary, teleport if there are many ranged fighters against you
  • uses Frost Nova to freeze enemies and make them vulnerable
  • uses ice armor to activate the multipliers
  • Uses Deep Freeze – Everything on screen should now die over the next 4 seconds
  • So that you don’t just have to wait for Deep Freeze, you can also cause damage through other Blizzard operations. Frost Nova always makes enemies vulnerable, and you also have chances to make frozen enemies vulnerable and spread the frozen status otherwise.

Ideally, enemies should be unable to move at all or only very slowly while you wear them down with your blizzards. You are particularly strong with bosses:

Your Frost abilities slowly fill up the boss’s stun bar. Especially saves ice armor and deep freeze for this moment. Just before the stun you should cast as many Blizzards on the boss as possible, then stun him and make him vulnerable with Frost Nova and kill him in a few seconds with the Ice Armor / Freeze combo.
