Diablo 4 bosses talk about 3 topics that still scare fans

Shortly before the server slam and the release of Diablo 4, the developers want to go back to the most important questions from the community. In a dev stream, the bosses talk about cosmetics, battle passes and seasons.

What are the topics? For the Dev Update on May 10th, Rod Fergusson (cover photo), Joe Piepiora, Kegan Clark and Adam Fletcher talk about Diablo 4’s cosmetics, battle pass and seasons – i.e. the content that is to come after the release.

The Battle Pass and cosmetics in particular have been a topic in the community for a while. Here fans see the danger that Blizzard could become too greedy and sell Pay2Win content, or that the skins could ruin the game.

One piece of information that should reassure many was given by Adam Fletcher in advance (via Twitter): the Battle Pass is tied to your account, not the platform.

Diablo 4 supports full crossplay with cross-progression. So you can seamlessly continue playing the Battle Pass on any platform you own Diablo 4 for.

When and where can I watch? The stream will start on Wednesday, May 10th at 8:00 p.m. German time. You can watch on Diablo’s official channels on Twitch or YouTube:

We will also prepare the most important information from the stream for you here on MeinMMO. By the way, the preload for the last beta, the server slam, begins immediately after the stream at 9:00 p.m.

Diablo 4 comes with an extensive transmog system that allows you to customize your appearance. You can see what it looks like in the video:

Cosmetics and Battle Pass – But nothing about the shop yet?

The monetization of Diablo 4 is causing many fans and us a bit of stomach ache. In none of the public tests has it been possible to know the shop and its contents. Important information on topics such as:

  • What can you buy?
  • Does Pay2Win exist?
  • How expensive are skins and co.?
  • The developers have repeatedly asserted that there will be no Pay2Win in Diablo 4. However, after the Diablo Immortal debacle, many fans no longer really trust the studio when it comes to the statement.

While the shop isn’t an official part of the May 10th stream, there may still be some more detailed information on monetization by then. After all, cosmetics should be the content of the shop.

Before the release on June 6th, you will be able to test Diablo 4 one last time. Blizzard wants you to really load the servers so that there are no more problems at the start:
