An “unidentified flying object” was reportedly detected off the coast of the Yellow Sea in northern China, off the city of Ricao in Shandong province.

In a message sent to fishing vessels in the region, the Qingdao Maritime Development Bureau was asked to be careful, stating that “the object is being prepared to be shot down”.

In the message, the coordinates of the object were given, “If the object falls near your ship, please take a photo for proof, remove the wreckage if conditions allow.” it was said.

Authorities did not provide information on what the object might be.

The navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army started a one-week exercise in the Bohay Sea, which is the neighboring bay of the region today.

The area where the unidentified object was seen is located near the Yuchi Naval Base, where China’s Liaoning aircraft carrier and war fleet anchor.

AFTER THE “SPY BALLO” CRISIS WITH THE USA

It was noteworthy that the incident came after the tension between the USA and China caused by the “spy bubble” crisis last week.

The US Department of Defense reported on February 3 that it was detected that a high-altitude intelligence balloon allegedly belonging to China was flying over the US mainland and passed over some sensitive military facilities in the state of Montana, including nuclear warheads and long-range missile depots.

China claimed that the balloon was a civilian aircraft belonging to the country, was used for meteorological research, and because its control capability was limited, it accidentally entered the US airspace by being dragged by the winds.

China’s statement did not satisfy Washington, and the balloon was shot down by a US military fighter jet in US territorial waters on February 4, on the orders of President Joe Biden, when it emerged over the Atlantic Ocean. (AA)
