“Destiny” raids are bugged – Blizzard gives them more life

The raids in WoW Shadowlands have been buffed, even if Blizzard only speaks of a “correction of the display”. What’s going on there?

Season 4 of WoW: Shadowlands has just started, but pretty much all of the new season’s content is causing problems. Previously there was massive criticism of the “Mythic+” dungeons, which have strange scaling and sometimes a lot of one-shot mechanics. Now the raids came into focus and Blizzard had to improve. Many bosses are now significantly harder.

What was the problem? The “fated” raids have turned out to be far too easy. Sometimes players plow through the bosses within a few minutes – even on heroic variant some bosses don’t survive two minutes, although they should be a bit harder due to the fated affixes. They just didn’t have enough life points.

There was also an error that caused the players’ abilities to do significantly more damage than originally planned. Some hunters report that their shots would suddenly land for 32,000 damage, melting bosses like crazy.

Blizzard became aware of the error relatively early on and promised to work on a solution.

What did Blizzard do now? In the Mythic version of Castle Nathria – and thus also currently in the “Destiny” version – the life points of the bosses have been increased by a whopping 15%. It is relatively rare for Blizzard to make such a drastic upward correction to raids.

Allegedly, this is only a correction of the display, the actual life points should not have changed at all – at least that’s what Blizzard said in the official WoW forum. Many players doubt this and are dissatisfied with the changes, because Blizzard had reset running raid instances with the hotfix and thus thrown many players out of the raid, which then had to start from the beginning.

How did this error come about? The fact that the bosses had far too little life is a mistake that probably should have been noticed during the test phase. Maybe Blizzard just underestimated how much the characters’ power has changed in recent patches or didn’t test it hard enough. After all, season 4 is just an “experimental” season that didn’t have as many resources put into it to keep working on Dragonflight with full force.

What do you think of these buffs? Are they justified and useful? Or should the raid have been left so easy to keep it fair?
