Roughly 227,000 people received unemployment benefits in 2022, compared with roughly 313,000 the year before. A decrease of 27 percent.
At the same time, the rate of reduction slowed during the last quarter of the year.
“The slowdown in the fourth quarter is a signal that a tougher situation on the labor market is likely to await in 2023,” says Tomas Eriksson at Sweden’s unemployment insurance company in a press release.
