“Dali, volume 1: Avant Gala”, written by Julie Birmant: “It’s the blossoming of genius”

Dali volume 1 Avant Gala written by Julie Birmant Its

With his thin mustaches and his surrealist paintings representing, in particular, soft watches, the Spanish painter Salvador Dali is one of the best-known artists of the 20th century. But how was genius formed? A series of comic strips, the first volume of which has just been released (by Dargaud), tells the story of this Dali before his fame, from his childhood in Figueras in Spain in the 1910s to his arrival in Paris, including his training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid where he met the future great director Luis Bunuel and the poet Federico Garcia Lorca. Meeting with the comic strip writer, Julie Birmant.
