Cult director Guy Ritchie has made his first Netflix series and the trailer revitalizes a 5-year-old film from the gangster thriller god

Cult director Guy Ritchie has made his first Netflix series

Big names in directing are no longer uncommon in the series business. Guy Ritchie, however, hasn’t worked on a series for over 20 years. In 2000, Ritchie was involved in an adaptation of his cult film Jack Dame King GrAs. But for his Netflix debut, he doesn’t dig too deep. His first series in 24 years is called The Gentlemen and is based on the gangster thriller of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant. A trailer for the star-studded series version has now been released.

Eddie becomes involved in the machinations of Bobby Glass’s (Ray Winstone) cannabis empire. He also gets to know his daughter Susie (Kaya Scodelario), who runs the drug business tough.

The series features some well-known names, but as of now, characters or stars from the film are not part of the cast. The cast includes Breaking Bad villain Giancarlo Esposito, Joely Richardson (The Tudors), The Covenant lead Dar Salim and Ritchie regular Vinnie Jones.

Then The Gentlemen by Guy Ritchie comes to Netflix
