Jonna Sundling is usually fast in the qualifiers and won it 1.57 seconds ahead of runner-up Linn Svahn.
Johanna Hagström and Maja Dahlqvist were also third and fourth behind.
The big scandal of the day was that Jessie Diggins was knocked out already in the qualifiers in the freestyle sprint. She was just over twelve seconds behind Sundling and finished in 31st place – one place away from promotion.
Diggins, who also had a tough day yesterday at 20 kilometers, leads the overall World Cup ahead of Linn Svahn.
