Cried 4 episodes out of 6

With Andor, a celebrated Star Wars series is currently running on Disney+. Nevertheless, the streaming service has decided to release another project from the galaxy far, far away in parallel. As of tomorrow are all six episodes Season 1 of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi on sale on Disney+.

What exactly is Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi?

Tales of the Jedi is an animated series created by Dave Filoni. He has already acted in numerous Star Wars series. Stylistically, the project follows The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. The series tells no ongoing storylinebut self-contained stories.

The total of six episodes of the 1st season thus follow an anthological structure and feel because of their Run length of 10 to 20 minutes like individual short films. Tales of the Jedi takes us back to the prequel era of The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.

Three of the episodes revolve around that Life of Ahsoka Tano, last seen in The Mandalorian Season 2. Now we get to experience a pivotal chapter from her childhood, not to mention two episodes that pick up on individual stations from the clone wars and bring back Anakain Skywalker.

The other three episodes are dedicated to that Career of Count Dooku, who we meet as a villain in Attack of the Clones. He was previously a member of the Jedi Order. Together with his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn, he experiences exciting adventures before he becomes disillusioned with the Jedi and switches to the dark side of power.

Is Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi worth it on Disney+?

The first votes on Tales of the Jedi are extremely positive. Star Wars Explained is particularly excited about the Count Dooku episodes. The central theme of the series can be summarized with the following question: What does it mean to be a Jedi? Dooku and Ahsoka are two perfect characters for this.

“I cried 4 episodes out of 6”: Tales of the Jedi seems to be becoming an extremely emotional affair. Despite its brevity the episodes hit the heart. The animations are convincing, the music is great and not a single word is wasted in the dialogues. That sounds very promising.

What can also be read from many reactions to stories of the Jedi: In the series there is still a lot of potential. Future seasons could criss-cross the Star Wars universe and introduce us to Jedi we haven’t learned too much about yet.
