The latest COVID-related death in Huron and Perth counties has been linked to an outbreak at a local long-term care home, public health officials have confirmed.
Huron Perth public health reported the new death – the 120th in the region linked to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic – during a data update on Wednesday.
There were six active outbreaks in Huron and Perth counties as of Wednesday, according to the health unit’s latest figures, the same amount reported last week.
Five of those outbreaks are in local long-term care and retirement homes. The sixth is located in an unnamed congregate living space.
Three people in the region were in hospital Wednesday due to COVID-19, the same number reported at this time last week.
