China dismisses reports that the covid-19 pandemic began with a leak from a laboratory in Wuhan.

It was this weekend that the Wall Street Journal, citing a classified report from the US Department of Energy, wrote that the virus probably arose after a leak in a laboratory in China.

The FBI has previously made the same assessment, while other authorities have drawn different conclusions.

The Biden administration in the White House has not confirmed the information and China dismisses the report as political smear.

In mid-February, the WHO promised to do everything possible to get an answer to the question of the origin of the coronavirus, denying information in a report that the organization had abandoned its investigation.

So far, almost seven million people with covid-19 have died in the world.
