Countdown to domestic car Togg Preparations have begun

At the Togg Gemlik facility in Bursa, the foundation of which was laid on July 18, 2020, preparations for trial production started in two years in line with the plans.

According to the statement made by Togg, the countdown has begun for trial production in line with the plans in the 2 years since the start of construction at the inherently sustainable Gemlik facility, which is the core of Togg’s “Journey to Innovation” goal.

Preparations for trial production continue at the facility, where partial rehearsals at body, paint and assembly stations were carried out successfully. With a “volatile organic compound” emission of less than 5 gr/m2, with a value of 1 9th of the legal limit in Turkey and 1 7th of the legal limit in Europe, the dyehouse is the cleanest in Europe. -The paint of the SUV body was removed and the assembly of parts of the same body was successfully completed at the assembly facility.

The Gemlik facility, which will also house the R&D Center, Style Design Center, Prototype Development and Test Center, Strategy and Management Center and User Experience Park units, will be ready for mass production in the last quarter of this year.

C-SUV WILL GO TO THE MARKET FIRST

In Togg, after the completion of the technical qualification (certification) tests in European norms, at the end of the first quarter of 2023, the innate electric SUV in the C segment will be launched on the market. Then, Sedan and Hatchback models in the C segment will enter the production line. In the following years, with the addition of B-SUV and C-MPV to the family, the product range consisting of 5 models carrying the same DNA will be completed.

Togg plans to produce a total of 1 million vehicles by 2030, with the production of 5 different models from a single platform.

TOGG GEMLIK FACILITY WITH NUMBERS IN ITS SECOND YEAR

The foundation stone of the Togg Gemlik facility was laid on 18 July 2020. The superstructure works of the facility started in January 2021. 44 thousand concrete columns were produced for the ground reinforcement of the Gemlik facility. 536 thousand cubic meters of excavation work, 493 thousand cubic meters of structural filling was done. 34 thousand tons of iron and 325 thousand cubic meters of concrete were used in the construction of the facility. While 230 thousand square meters of insulation was made, 33 thousand tons of steel columns were used. While the total facade panel was 55 thousand square meters, 520 thousand meters of electrical wiring was made. 160 thousand meters of pipeline was laid at the facility. A total of 250 robots were commissioned on the production lines and equipment assembly was completed. Construction of the 1.6 kilometer test track has been completed.

The facility, which was built on an area of ​​1.2 million square meters, has a closed area of ​​230 thousand square meters. In the facility, where 9,700 people took part in the construction, 3 million hours of work were carried out. The Gemlik facility will employ a total of 4,300 people when its production capacity reaches 175,000 units.

The works at the facility were monitored 24/7 on togg.com.tr and Togg YouTube channel, starting from April 9, 2021. More than 2 million people have watched the live broadcast so far. The facility has a target of producing 1 million smart devices in total by 2030. (AA)
