The government wants to produce more facts about conversion attempts by young LGBTQI people. The Authority for Youth and Civil Society Affairs (MUCF) is therefore tasked with mapping the vulnerability of young LGBTQI people to honor-related violence, including conversion attempts, together with other relevant authorities.
Recently, a report by the MUCF showed that conversion attempts are occurring.
– But we need more knowledge about how many are vulnerable and who they are, says Culture Minister Jeanette Gustafsdotter (S).
Conversion attempts can consist of young people being subjected to pressure and coercion to change or hide their sexual orientation or gender identity.
