Container ship crashed into the bridge in the Suez Canal

Head of the Suez Canal Administration, Osama Rabi, stated in his statement that rescue activities are continuing with 4 tugboats to tow the container ship, which is 46 meters wide, 336 meters long and carrying 101 thousand tons of cargo, which crashed into the El-Mensi Bridge in the eastern part of the canal.

Rabi stated that the container ship, which was going from Singapore to the Netherlands, broke down and hit the bridge while passing through the Suez Canal.

Stating that the accident did not cause any disruption in maritime traffic, Rabi noted that the ships entering the canal from the north side continued their passage on their normal routes, while the ships coming from the south were directed to the determined alternative route and there were no problems in passage.
