(Finance) – Consip has awarded the new contract for the supply of electricity to public administrations for an available quantity of 18 Terawatt hours (TWh) and a value of over 3 billion euros. With this initiative, administrations can benefit from largest electricity trading in Italyhaving the guarantee of using a contract with advantageous, pre-established and transparent prices and conditions.
The tender – divided into 17 geographical lots – recorded good results in terms of participation (5 competitors for a total of 50 offers), and a drop in prices (-18.15% compared to the price of the 2023-2024 Safeguard Service), despite the fact that, almost 2 years after the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the energy scenario still remains uncertain.
The participation window will last 12 months, with the exception of Lot 16 Sicily for which the duration is 10 months, and will allow the stipulation of supply contracts at variable prices for one year. Finally, the initiative allows the possibility of activating the Green Optionto obtain certification of supply from renewable sources only through Guarantee of Origin (GO).
