Conan Exile resets all servers by days because of a bug that caused players to lose their valuable companions

Conan Exile players will lose several days of progress due to a game bug causing their pets to disappear.

What are companions in Conan Exiles? Human NPC companions play an important role in Funcom’s survival game Conan Exiles. You can catch them as slaves and turn them into so-called “Thralls”. In a way, they are serfs who then take on certain tasks for you and support you.

Thralls can have a different profession within your group depending on their role. There are craftsmen such as carpenters and blacksmiths, priests and artists, but also fighters and archers.

To make an NPC your bondage, you must knock him unconscious with a club, drag him to your base bound, and then use a torture device to break his will. But you should not forget during the ordeal that you must provide food.

Your enslaved companions then play an important role in the everyday gameplay of Conan Exiles and are a help that should not be underestimated. It is all the more tragic when players lose a large number of thralls – possibly even with high levels – because of a mistake.

Game error becomes the liberator of the oppressed

What was that mistake? On September 2nd, there was a bug in Conan Exiles that reduced the thralls’ decay timer to one day, regardless of how much time was left on the timer beforehand.

If the timer runs out because you haven’t logged into the game for 15 days, the companions are gone.

According to the “Conan Exiles” developer Funcom, the bug and the reduced timer it caused caused many players to lose their thralls (via forums.funcom.com).

Why did players lose their progress? Funcom was able to fix the bug the morning of the following day, but due to the lost thralls on the evening of September 3rd, they decided to roll back.

As a result of the rollback, the developers reset the saves from all 780 servers to a September 1st backup. As a result, all players lost the progress they were making in Conan Exiles in the meantime, but got their valuable companions back.

In addition, Funcom promised compensation for the inconvenience caused and the loss made during the weekend. According to this, from September 4th to September 11th, 2023, the XP gain, the collection speed and the conversion rate of thralls and pets will be increased.
