10.23 pm: Broken pilot in Baarn

A motorist caused damage in Baarn this evening. The driver wanted to turn right from Goeman Borgesiuslaan into Zandvoortweg. In the bend, the driver lost control of the car, hit a lamppost and came to a stop in a garden.

A car parked in the driveway was not hit by the crashed car. The lampshade did go through a side window of this vehicle. The driver of the crashed car has been arrested, according to a press photographer.

6.07 pm: Accident in Veenendaal

One person was slightly injured in a collision between two cars on the Langelaar in Veenendaal. The victim was checked and treated at the scene by ambulance personnel.

The emergency services received a report of an accident at the intersection of Langelaar and Hoochbeen in Veenendaal around 5:45 p.m. At the scene they found two heavily damaged cars. Both cars had to be towed by a tow truck.

5 p.m.: Fire in Woudenberg

A kitchen fire raged on Voorstraat in Woudenberg. The fire brigade was urgently called around 5.15 pm. The fire was quickly brought under control. The home was damaged, but no one was injured.

4.41 pm: Accident on Hagesteinsebrug

A rear-end collision took place on the A27 this afternoon. It happened at the Hagesteinsebrug over the Lek between Vianen and Nieuwegein. According to the police, two people with minor injuries were checked by ambulance personnel. A salvage company removed the cars. Due to the accident, one lane was temporarily open.

2.13 pm: Traffic jams in the province

There are currently several traffic jams in the province of Utrecht. For example, there is about 13 kilometers of traffic jam between Strand Nulde and Leusden, causing a delay of about half an hour. There are also traffic jams between the Everdingen junction and Utrecht Leidsche Rijn. There is about 14 kilometers of slow moving traffic to a standstill due to a broken down car. That causes a delay of about 20 minutes.

12.56 pm: Investigation after confrontation between wolf and dog

The province of Utrecht is investigating a confrontation between a wolf and a dog in the woods of Austerlitz. The dog was not injured, but the province does take the collision seriously and strongly advises dog owners to keep their dogs on a leash on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, including in off-leash areas.

10 a.m.: Nuisance caused by rave all night, police intervene in the morning

Last night it didn’t stop at that one rave on Biltstraat in Utrecht. It was also a hit on Archimedeslaan. About a thousand people gathered there for an illegal party. RTV Utrecht received dozens of reports via email and WhatsApp. The police only decided to intervene in the morning. The municipality will provide an explanation as to why later today.

1:30 am: Police end squatting and illegal rave

An illegal party on Biltstraat in Utrecht was stopped by the police last night. The party took place in a building that was squatted last night. Five people were arrested when the squatting operation ended, the police reported.

3.24 pm: Car ends up in a ditch at the Everdingen junction

A car left the road along the A2 at the Everdingen junction this afternoon. The driver was able to get away quickly and was not seriously injured. The accident caused a small traffic jam.
