The current permit for fish farming expires at the end of December 2024. The company therefore intends to apply for a new permit, and at the same time it wants to expand fish farming.
In recent years, the company has grown approximately 330 tons of rainbow trout per year, but the plans are now to double the cultivation.
SVT has sought representatives for Vattudalen’s fish to hear more about the plans, but has not been able to reach anyone.
The fish farm in Vattviken has been reported to the police several times by the county administration for allowing fish to escape from the crates, but none of the reports have led to any charges.
