An accident involving a goods train and a passenger car has occurred in Lervik in Degerfors municipality. One person is taken to hospital by ambulance. At present, it is unclear why the incident occurred.

The police were called to the scene at 08:53 on Monday morning when a freight train allegedly collided with a passenger car. The person who was traveling in the car was taken to hospital by ambulance. No other person is said to have been injured in the collision.
– The person was awake and talking, but it is difficult to say anything more about the state of the damage at the moment, says Gabriel Henning, press officer at the police in the Bergslagen region.
Train traffic in the area has been stopped due to the accident and there is currently no forecast for the traffic. It is still unclear why the incident occurred, but the police are on the scene to investigate and interview witnesses.

– There is a stop in train traffic and the train remains in place at the moment. We need to talk to people on site so there is not really any forecast at the moment, says Gabriel Henning.
