Coach hero Wolfgang Pichler’s monster tribute to Johannes Thingnes Bö – sticks out his chin: “Now he’s..”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

It’s hardly exciting anymore.
After Johannes Thingnes Bö’s new super race, Wolfgang Pichler sticks out his chin.
– He is the best ever, says the demon coach.

It’s really just bad luck for Sebastian Samuelsson. The Swede has had a fantastic WC so far and already has two bronze medals to his credit. But it could have been better if it weren’t for a certain Johannes Thingnes Bö.

Sticks out the chin

The Norwegian is having the best season ever in biathlon history, and so far he has won four out of four competitions in the WC. He was the anchor in the mixed relay, and has subsequently won gold in the sprint, pursuit start and over the distance. This season, the Norwegian has won 19(!) of 22 competitions.

These are numbers that make Wolfgang Pichler’s jaw drop. The Demon coach was on SVT on Tuesday, and stuck out his chin about Bö’s dominance.

– I have never seen anyone like him, says Pichler, who then continues:

– He is better than Ole Einar Björndalen and better than Martin Fourcade. He is the best ever. Has won almost every race this year.

Pointing out the key

Johannes Thingnes Bö will in all probability break Magdalena Forsberg’s record of 14 individual victories in one and the same season. Bö currently stands at the same number. Pihcler points out what makes him so good.

– Today he is almost two minutes ahead of the runner-up in skating. It gives him a certainty in the shooting. If you know you will win when you shoot one or two booms, you shoot much safer, he says.

Pichler believes at the same time that there is a risk that it goes too far, that Norway’s dominance in the long term is a threat to biathlon.

– I have to say that I am a little disappointed that Norway is so superior. They always have 5-6 riders in the top ten. It’s a bit dangerous for the sport.
