Cloud gaming providers reject CMA’s decision

After the unfavorable decision from the CMA to Microsoft’s acquisition of Blizzard-Activision, cloud gaming providers (such as NVIDIA, Boosteroid) announced that they rejected the decision.

After the negative decision from the CMA in Microsoft’s attempt to acquire Blizzard-Activision, the waters do not seem to be calming down. Cloud game providers such as NVIDIA GeForce Now and Boosteroid shared that they rejected the decision, thinking that the decision would have a negative impact on their subscribers.

Cloud game providers like NVIDIA, Boosteroid rejected CMA’s decision

After the announcement of Microsoft’s acquisition possibility in January 2022, many companies other than Sony and even members of the American Congress were involved in the issue. All parties made many statements to influence the decision. It seems that these statements will continue for a while after the decision announced by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) yesterday.

Earlier today, companies and individuals involved in this lawsuit also began to speak out against the CMA’s decision. The first of these is NVIDIA GeForce, stating, “GeForce NOW and other cloud gaming providers will have an even deeper game catalog if Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision is completed. We see this as an advantage for cloud gaming and hope a positive solution is found.” It’s NOW.

Alongside GeForce NOW, another cloud gaming service, Boosteroid, said: “The Boosteroid team and our users disagree with the CMA’s decision against Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision. Our stance on this is in line with that of Microsoft’s president, Brad Smith. We hope that the problem will be resolved quickly,” he shared on Twitter.

It is certain that the developments in this case will be discussed for a long time after Microsoft announced that it will appeal the decision. We will also follow up and share the information we get with you.
