Cinema: “The Workbench” by Mathias Gokalp, yesterday’s worker suffering still relevant

Educate the working class and learn from it was the logic of the far-left intellectuals of the 1960s and 1970s who decided to infiltrate factories to foment revolution. Robert Linhart, normalien, agrégé in philosophy, was one of them. He got hired in a factory that made 2CVs and drew from it a book, which has become a classic on working conditions, entitled The Workbench. Director Mathias Gokalp adapts it to the cinema, and makes it a film that resonates with the current period.
