The head of social affairs in Växjö municipality, Rizana Talic, cannot comment on the details of the individual case, but says that they have been in contact with the child’s family and therefore need to investigate the social service’s part in the incident.
– We have learned that the child has died and therefore we are investigating how we have worked with the case, says Rizana Talic.
The sequence of events surrounding the child’s death is unclear, as is the cause of death. Something that hopefully the police investigation can provide an answer to. According to information to SVT, it was the municipality that had procured the hotel room where the child died.
– We usually investigate when there are deaths in the area of social services. We have to look at what happened regardless of the cause of death. When it’s that serious, you always do an investigation about your own authority, says Rizana Talic.
According to the social manager, such an investigation usually takes a few weeks, but it also depends on what the police come up with.
– The sequence of events must be mapped and the cause of death clarified, but in the meantime we are looking at our part of the management.
