Chicago won the sweepstakes for generational talent Connor Bedard

17-year-old Connor Bedard will most likely be signed to the Chicago Blackhawks during next summer’s signing ceremony. Chicago won the roster draw early Sunday morning.

Early on Sunday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks received the first booking round for next summer’s booking event of the hockey league NHL.

In practice, this means that Chicago gets to reserve a super promise by Connor Bedard to his team. Bedard, 17, is considered an absolutely exceptional generational talent.

The Blackhawks were preliminarily the third most likely team to get the number one pick. Thus, the Anaheim Ducks received the second and the Columbus Blue Jackets the third reserve round.

In Chicago, there was a frenzy about the first reservation. The club shared a video of the event on Twitter, where the Blackhawks’ booking was severely criticized.

Super promise Bedard has played three seasons in the Canadian junior league WHL for the Regina Pats team. In the most recent season, he scored 71+72=143 in a total of 57 games.

In the Junior World Championships at the turn of the year, Bedard scored 9+14=23 points in seven matches, when Canada reached the world championship. Bedard already took part in the Junior World Championships more than a year ago with 4+4=8 points.
