Charlie Sheen plays himself in the new series from TAAHM

It was one of the biggest Hollywood scandals in recent years: Charlie Sheen had a falling out with Chuck Lorre behind the scenes of Two and a Half Men and then had to leave the extremely successful sitcom. Over a decade later, the two have each other reconciled again and a new series project was implemented.

Bookie is the name of the new series that brings Lorre and Sheen together after the Two and a Half Men scandal. The story revolves around the accountant Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco), who is on illegal sports betting specialized and fears for the future of his business. Because California wants to legalize sports betting.

Danny is the main character of Bookie. The series stands or falls with him. Sheen takes more of a supporting role. He plays one of the people who regularly knock on Danny’s door to make a bet. The twist: Sheen’s character is not fictional. He just plays himselfthe actor Charlie Sheen.

Originally, Sheen was supposed to be introduced into the series during a poker game that takes place in a rehab clinic. However, Lorre revealed that the actor approached him wanting to delete this element. “[Charlie Sheen] said, ‘Can we stop with drug addict Charlie?'” The reason for this is Sheen’s past, in which the actor struggling with drug problems had.

When does Bookie with Charlie Sheen start?

Bookie launches in the US on November 30, 2023 on the streaming service Max (formerly HBO Max). When and how the series will come to Germany is not yet known. In the past, Max series were published on RTL+ and Sky and WOW, among others. It is entirely conceivable that Bookie will also open up here.
