A statement was made on the CENTCOM website regarding the UAV attacks in Iraq.
The statement stated that “the US army defended against three UAVs near US and coalition forces in Iraq in the last 24 hours.”
In the statement, it was stated that US forces destroyed a UAV in Western Iraq, and that the second UAV was damaged, but “resulted in minor injuries to coalition forces.”
A UAV WAS DESTROYED
The statement also stated that in Northern Iraq, US forces destroyed a UAV and this did not result in any injury or damage.
Ayn al-Assad Military Base, where US soldiers are located, is located in Anbar province in western Iraq.
In the town of Harir, approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Erbil, there is a base belonging to the US-led anti-DAESH coalition.
The Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) Anti-Terrorism Unit reported that a bomb-laden UAV fell on an empty area in the town of Harir at 12.18 in the afternoon. (AA)
