Carl-Oskar Bohlin’s anger after the snow chaos: Don’t want to hear

It’s traffic chaos after a good snowfall.
Then Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin roars away.
“I don’t want to hear about a single motorist who embarked on this after changing to summer tires,” he writes on X.

After the snow and slippery chaos in Västra Götaland, several road users have been stuck on the E4 all night and have spent the night in their vehicles. The queues between Jönköping and Huskvarna have started to move on some routes, but new departures have caused it on others.

The traffic situation after the snowstorm causes Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), Minister for Civil Defence, to roar.

“Orange weather warning has been and is issued. The second most serious grading. I don’t want to hear about a single motorist who has embarked on this after changing to summer tires,” he writes on X.

“Drive carefully and be considerate”

Carl-Oskar Bohlin believes that the state also has a great responsibility. But in the post on X, he presses hard on his own responsibility as well.

“The personal responsibility is also very extensive in this transition period. If the summer tires are on, the car should not be used in winter conditions,” he writes.

Andreas Carlson (KD), Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, also emphasizes the importance of not going out if you have changed to summer tires.

“We follow developments on the E20 and other weather-affected roads very closely. Concerned authorities are actively working with the situation and are on high alert. Anyone who has the opportunity should consider postponing their trip. Drive carefully and show consideration if you need to go out on the winter roads,” he writes X.
