A small canal just 4.55 km long, the Canal Saint-Martin is located in the 10th and 11th arrondissements of Paris, linking the Bassin de la Villette to the Port de l’Arsenal. Inaugurated in 1825, the canal was originally dedicated to the conveyance of drinking water in the capital.
