Canada close to general strike

More than 155,000 government employees in Canada will go on strike on Wednesday if the parties do not reach an agreement.

The trade union PSAC Chris Aylward says that they have achieved some success in the negotiations, but that they are far from each other when it comes to salaries and remote work, among other things.

Staff in critical professions are exempt, but 35,000 CRA employees are covered, as are people working on visas.
