Bully storms opening night because of GTA 6 – host disappointed

The opening night of gamescom 2023 began with a scandal: Shortly after the opening, a fan stormed the stage who really wanted to talk about Rockstar’s mammoth game GTA 6, which had not yet been released. Moderator Geoff Keighley referred him to the event.

That was the scandal: gamescom 2023 started with Opening Night Live, a big event where new games will be presented and numerous trailers will be shown.

In the first few minutes, host Geoff Keighley had set the stage for an epic evening of piano music and a Starfield trailer.

Keighley was saying he could play Starfield, but not talk about it, when a man with a beard stormed onto the stage, harassed the moderator and said in English with an audible accent that Bill Clinton wanted to play GTA 6.

gamescom moderator reacts confidently, but expresses his great disappointment

This is how the moderator reacted: The presenter turned away from the man, leaving his voice clipped through Keighley’s microphone as security officers removed him. The camera quickly panned away from Keighley and the troublemaker.

The audience booed.

Keighely thanked security and explained:

“Very disappointing. This is so disappointing, this is such a special night for many, many developers. It’s really disappointing to see someone behaving like that. But we’re going to get on with the show right away.”

According to initial information, the man was the same person who already broadcast the Sport1 Doppelpass on Sunday, August 20th. stormed, and wanted to talk about GTA 6 there.

Allusion to incident at the Game Awards 2022

What was that about Bill Clinton? This is an allusion to the “Games Awards 2022”, where someone had sneaked up on the developers of Elden Ring and told something about Bill Clinton. As the site tells Kotaku, the person turned out to be a well-known online troll.

Like the opening night of gamescom and the Summer Game Festg, the “Ersatz E3”, the Game Awards in December each year are moderated by Geoff Keighley.

Why is GTA 6 so special? GTA 6 is obviously a special case among all games that are currently in development, because the “GTA” series has always been one of the most popular game series ever.

GTA 5 was released in 2013, but it still enjoys continued popularity 10 years later thanks to the online mode GTA Online. Rockstar is keeping a low profile about Part 6, even though players have been waiting for it for a long time and are absorbing every scrap of information about the game.

A big leak in 2022 apparently fueled interest in GTA 6 even more.

The news is created using the breaking process and is continuously updated.
