Building a car with a steering wheel – it’s that easy

There is a lot to discover in LEGO Fortnite and some of it requires quite a long walk. We’ll show you how you can build a car – including a steering function.

How do I build a car? You can build a car in LEGO Fortnite from just a few pieces. First, you should look for a large open area so that you have enough space to try things out. You will need the following components and materials:

  • 1 dynamic foundation
  • 4 small tires
  • 1 softwood, 1 softwood stick each
  • 1 small nozzle
  • 1 wooden stick, 1 explosive powder, 1 torch
  • 1 activation lever
  • You place the foundation on a large open area and attach the tires around it. You place the nozzle so that it points in a possible direction of travel. You place the activation lever over the nozzle on the foundation so that you can easily reach it and activate the nozzle when you are standing on the foundation.

This is what your car will look like:

You can find the components under “Toys”

Can I also steer the car? In order to be able to steer the car, it needs a small upgrade. To do this, simply place an additional large tire on the foundation, in the middle opposite the activation lever.

Then you look for a wooden box, which you often find on small buildings around the world. Alternatively, you can craft them from 2 copper ingots and 6 softwood. If you then touch the large tire with the box in your hands while standing on the moving foundation, the tire rotates and the car steers.

Can this be controlled well? It is a little awkward to activate the nozzle when the wooden box is on the foundation. In addition, it tips down quickly. In order for steering to work at all, you first have to place the box on the foundation, then press the switch and then pick up the box again to steer.

By the way, the whole thing also works with an explosive barrel (made of 6 planks and 3 explosive powder) as an alternative to the wooden box, but you have to be careful not to throw it and blow anything away.

But it’s still fun to drive – and you can get around in the car even without a steering upgrade. Going downhill, you don’t even need to turn on the jet and you can still get from A to B faster than on foot.
