Budget Utrecht: ‘Significantly higher costs for residents’

Budget Utrecht Significantly higher costs for residents

The expenditure side of the budget expresses optimism. This council plans to invest extra in tackling the growing inequality of opportunity, the housing shortage and the climate crisis. For example, the council writes that 3,000 regular homes will be added in 2023. The budget is a financial translation of the coalition agreement that GroenLinks, D66, PvdA, Student & Starter and ChristenUnie concluded before the summer. And that is why the budget states: “In 2023, an extra amount of 46 million euros will go to parks, sports places, cycling routes and bicycle sheds, school buildings and more greenery in the city.”
