Before Wednesday’s away meeting with Tingsryd, it was clear that Brynäs needed two points to secure the series victory. But they had to do without the suspended duo Johan Larsson and Jack Kopacka, who have played important roles during the season.

But that didn’t stop Niklas Gällstedt’s crew from going out and doing the job that was required.

In the middle of the first period, Tyler Vesel was able to break home after being cleared by Tyler Kelleher and then Simon Robertsson added a 2-0 goal before the end of the first period.

Tyler Kelleher was then able to make it 3-0 in the middle of the second period – a goal that sent Tingsryd down.

In the third period, Brynäs continued to be the number too big for Tingsryd and the final score was finally written at 5–2 – a result which means that Brynäs can claim to be the winner of the regular season.

The series victory means that Brynäs now receives home field advantage throughout the playoff spring. It also means that you get to choose a quarter-final opponent from among the four lowest-ranked teams.

– If you look at previous years, it is important to have this advantage with a home game in a decisive game seven, so it is extremely important, Brynäs coach Niklas Gällstedt told TV4 after the game.
