The hamburger chain had a staff party in a shopping center in Malmö.

A fight then broke out, which ended with a policeman and a security guard being injured.

– The police would break up the fight. Then they were broken down instead. They shouted: “Help, help, help!”, says a witness.

The police were called to the Entré shopping center in Malmö at 11.50pm on Monday evening. In a rented party room in the mall, a hamburger chain held a large staff party, according to both participants and police sources.

– We went there when the security guards pressed the assault alarm, says Evelina Olsson, press spokesperson at the police’s regional command center.

A security guard and a policeman were injured. They were examined by paramedics who were called to the premises.

– They have received blows. There should not be any serious injuries, says Evelina Olsson.

Two men in their 20s and 25s have been arrested and are suspected of violence against an official. In addition, one person has been taken into custody due to drunkenness and another person has been removed according to the 13th section of the Police Act on disturbing the public order.

A witness states that the fight broke out between three people inside the staff party. When the police were to break up the fight, they were attacked instead.

– They were wrestled on the floor and tried to calm themselves with the batons. They called for reinforcements and shouted: “Help, help, help!”. I saw two policemen lying down, says the witness.

Aftonbladet has searched the hamburger chain whose press department had no knowledge of the events at the staff party. According to the police, the organizers took the decision to cancel the event prematurely after the commotion.

Earlier in the evening, two police officers were injured in another intervention in Malmö.

– We see no connection between the events, even if they occurred only a few hundred meters from each other, says Evelina Olsson.
