A 50-year-old Brantford man who was chased by a woman armed with a knife is now facing assault charges.
Shortly after noon on Monday, Brantford Police officers responded after receiving a 911 call from a citizen who had seen a woman armed with a knife chasing a man on Brant Avenue near St. Paul Avenue.
The man and woman were inside a Brant Avenue residence when police arrived.
It’s alleged that the man was in the home without permission. He reportedly assaulted the woman at which time she chased him out of the residence, police said in a media release.
The woman suffered minor physical injuries, said police.
The man has been charged with assault and being unlawfully in a dwelling.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing, police said Tuesday.
