BPER Banca with 3Sun for the construction of the Enel

(Finance) – BPER Bank participates, with a share of 140 million euros (out of 560 in total), to the construction of the largest photovoltaic module factory in Europe. The operation is the result of collaboration between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a pool of banks composed not only of BPER – as Mandated Lead Arranger – but also of Unicredit and Banco BPM, and also provides for the support of the guarantee SACE Green.

The purpose of financingpaid to 3Sunis the expansion of the Gigafatory Of Enel Green Power in Catania, an industrial-sized plant for the production of innovative, sustainable and high-performance photovoltaic modules.

The expansion of the factory will lead to an increase in its production capacity to 3 GW per year, up from the current 200 MW. The project aligns with the broader mission REPowerEUcontributing to the European Union’s goal of producing almost 600 GW of power solar by 2030, while reducing dependence on gas imports and diversifying supply from solar components.

The operation, by BPER Banca, was structured by the Corporate & Investment Banking Department.
